Chatsworth Walk July 2011

Chatsworth Walk July 2011

This was a perfect day and a perfect end to a fabulous year.

After a magnificent breakfast we were treated to Mr Scothern's thought provoking and very moving service. He was passionate in his address and emphasised the school motto: To be rather than to seem to be! After this we rushed off to get ready for the third Boarders' Chatsworth Walk and this was going to be a great one! The sun beamed down as we wound down the hill through Bakewell and up to Carleton Pastures. As we broke through the trees we were met by a stunning view of the estate spread out in front of us, the pretty village of Edensor and Chatsworth House. Passing large herds of deer we strode down to Queen Mary's Bower and had some delightful picnics and the parents quenched their thirst on some fine champagne!

On the return leg the boys and girls plunged into the cool river and had a wonderful splash around to revive themselves for the walk home.

Back at base we had some refreshments before the children had a lovely formal meal with the Headmaster. That night some of the children had a refreshing water fight before crashing into bed for a very well earned rest! Well done everyone and rest assured that next year the adventure continues!
