Welcome to S. Anselm's School

On Saturday 24 April, seven pupils from S. Anselm’s took part in the Chesterfield Music Festival at the Winding Wheel.

Toby took part in the piano class and upper strings class, coming 2nd in the strings section.

Andrew and Georgia competed against each other, and were the only competitors in the 12 and under guitar section. Andrew came out victorious in that class.

Annabel won the recorder solo class (although she was the only competitor), and the adjudicator was so impressed that she was invited to perform in the evening concert.

Harry, once again the only competitor in his class, won his guitar section with a good rendition of Winter by Vivaldi in the grand auditorium.

In the musical / Walt Disney class, a large class with 11 competitors, Arabella was awarded 2nd place, with Isobel in 3rd. Arabella was invited back for a performance in the evening concert.

The concert in the evening brought together the competitors that the adjudicators judged to have impressed them the most during the day. It was lovely to have some S Anselm’s representation in Annabel and Arabella, whose performances were something that they themselves should be very proud of. All in all, a very successful day.
