Fell Running Fun
With frozen conditions affecting many of the matches we took the opportunity to broaden the curriculum. Amongst the many sporting options a few brave volunteers opted to try their hands (well feet mostly) at fell running.
The happy crew were bussed out to Sheldon (Thanks for the lift Mr Eaton) where they began their arduous journey back to school via Deepdale. The stalwart crowd enjoyed the picturesque view of the peaks in their winter splendour. We raced across the fields until plunging down the valley into Great Shacklow Woods and it is here the real adventure began – see the video of them enjoying the contours!

Amongst the hazards encountered there were sheep, streams, logs jumps and a rather curious horse! We completed the journey by heading home via Ashford in the Water and the final ascent of Endcliff Woods. The total journey was 3.9 miles and all the pupils were delighted at their achievement. A final reward came in the form of some carbo-loading with hot chocolate and jammy dodgers courtesy of the kitchens.
Well done lads – awesome stuff!
