Dear Parents
Swine Flu
We have recently had confirmed 5 cases of swine flu in the school. In each case the symptoms are not bad and it seems to be a mild dose. We are following our swine flu policy on this and have in the first instance isolated the children and then asked their parents to take them home.
The school doctor has advised us not to issue the Tami flu vaccine as these cases are so mild. Furthermore the side effects of the Tami flu vaccine can be quite nasty in some cases. If things worsen at home and parents wish it, they can contact the flu helpline for further help or indeed the vaccine.
We are hoping that this will be over fairly quickly.
We have been advised that the school should remain open and that normal service should continue.
It is also hoped that the Tour to Ireland will go ahead unaffected, although a decision on this will be taken later on.
We are attempting to cancel the match on Tuesday with the Touring side, given the state of affairs in the school.
I will continue to keep you posted via the web site.
