Fourth Year Bushcraft Weekend 16th - 17th May

Fourth Year Bushcraft Weekend 16th - 17th May

Alex from the Bushcraft Company arrived at S. Anselm's early this morning to introduce the parents and pupils of the Fourth Year to an exciting new venture that will take place next term.

Bushcraft

During the afternoon of Saturday 16th May and Sunday 17th May all the boys and girls will be taken out into the wilds of Derbyshire to test their mettle and to brave the elements in a Ray Mears style course designed to stretch the pupils and give them basic survival skills.

They will learn to light fires, do basic bush tucker cooking, make dens and gut fish. They will also skin rabbits, play games and learn how to survive out in the wild over night. This is a wonderful, once in a lifetime opportunity and Alex's presentation was certainly received with a great deal of enthusiasm and interest.

Vital administration will be sent to parents as soon as it arrives and the school will discuss the organisation of the weekend at greater length with the pupils. The Bushcraft Company is a highly organised and hugely experienced company that has worked with a large number of reputable prep schools all of whom have delivered great reports. However, if parents would like to find out more then the website details are below. Mr Mace is overseeing this event and is happy to field any questions from parents too.
