Harvest Service
A gloriously sunny autumn Sunday morning made a fitting backdrop to our Harvest Breakfast and Service, this year. A big thank you to Helen Lings for an inspirational service. And due to parents generosity, the stage was laden with produce which will go to the Archer Project's storeroom, in Sheffield, to help the Cathedral provide for the city's homeless, this year.
The theme of the service was the beauty of Creation, and that was set by The Chapel Choir's lovely rendering of John Rutter's "All things Bright and Beautiful," and a poetic reading of the Story of Creation, dramatized confidently by Jacque and Montigu. Helen Lings talked about yeast, and challenged us to put lift into life, with the help of pupils blowing bubbles!
Our awareness of the needs of others was further shown in a very generous collection of £400, over the past 2 services, which will go the charity "Seeds for Africa", and is sufficient to buy a whole garden's worth of seeds, from lentils, to broccoli and sweetcorn, for a village.
Thank you, everyone, for sharing in our harvest festival, with us.
