Harvest Festival Sunday

Harvest Festival Sunday

The boarders woke up with a spring in their step this morning, excited that today would be a special day of celebration. First, a leisurely half an hour relaxing in their PJs (some of the boys were taught a thing or two by Walter)!

Then the boys and girls made themselves tremendously smart and bounced down to breakfast.

Mr Watt took a lucky bunch off to the Repton Challenge whilst the rest of us stayed at home and prepared for the Harvest Festival. Mrs Lings and Mr Weller had put a great deal of time and energy into the service and it went extremely well.

The choir sang superbly and the large congregation ensured that most of Bakewell knew that today was a special day. Mrs Ling's service was heart warming and encouraged us to realise that our planet is a gift to treasure not to take for granted.

After a quick cup of coffee the boys and girls went out for the afternoon with their parents and whether it was a museum, the cinema or a wet welly walk, they all had a cracking time. When they got back there was time for a splash in the pool before they crashed out in bed ready for the challenges of the next week. Well done to all!
