Sunday evening's Harvest Festival service and the assembly on Monday morning were run by Helen Lings, with a talk from Tim Renshaw of the Sheffield Cathedral Archer Project on the Sunday evening. The Cathedral Archer Project look after the homeless from Sheffield, helping them to rebuild their lives and develop skills. The harvest produce, kindly sent in by parents, will be taken to Sheffield Cathedral this week.
The large Sunday congregation gave a fantastic boost to the singing and the Chapel Choir made their debut this year with a performanace of a setting of All Things Bright and Beautiful by Wetherell. The singing was outstanding, especially considering the limited rehearsals so far, and thanks go to the boarders and the day pupils who came in especially for the service.
On Monday morning, the full Chapel Choir contingent sang the anthem, whilst the full pupil body more than made up for the lack of parents with some impressive singing.
We were certainly left with the feeling of being thankful for what we have and encouraged to be more generous with our time and gifts to others.
