This was a perfect outing for our budding Year 7 historians and we had a great day at this terrific museum.

The children were given sword fighting lessons, did some brass rubbings and handled lots of medieval armour. We also had plenty of time to wander the corridors and look at all the exhibits. The children were shown Stone Age weapons as well as learning about weapons used in current conflicts and on the streets of Britain.

What a bloodthirsty bunch the Year 7's are!
Although this was a fascinating exploration of the history of conflict, we all appreciated that in some ways this is a sad museum standing as testiment to man's inability to live peacefully with their neighbour.
All in all this was a great outing which will fuel the children's enthusiasm for the medieval history they will be studying this year.
My thanks to Mr Eaton and Mrs Pryor who made it possible.
