Informal Concert: Sunday 15 November

The Informal Concert on Sunday 15 November seemed to break all records.   It was, certainly in my time at S. Anselm's, the longest Informal Concert to date - a touch over an hour.   It also included four (yes, four!) performances by the same child - on four different instruments!  Thank you, and well done Oonagh!   Most touching of all, however, was the inclusion of two items where pupils had asked to be included in the concert, despite not being put forward by their instrumental teacher.

The variety and quality on show were as fantastic as ever as a reasonably full Hargreaves Hall was treated to music by composers from Scott Joplin to Mozart and on instruments from violin to voice and french horn to oboe.   There were performances by some of the younger children of the school as well as a handful of our fifth years, as well as a number of debuts, including that of the oboe trio, led by Mrs Hill.

A special thank you to the instrumental staff who gave their support to the concert - Mr Marples, Miss Street, Mrs Dobbin, Mrs Dumpleton, Mrs Dinnigan and Mrs Hill - the wonderful parental support and to the fantastically talent performers - well done!
