Player of the match – Georgie H for excellent accurate throws, great catches and feisty batting. 

A disappointing result for our under 13 girls, who certainly fielded well and made few errors. Having lost the toss, we were put into bat first. The bowler was very quick to release the ball, often as soon as our batter stepped into the square, giving them no chance to prepare or compose themselves for the bowl. The deeps also worked very well together, covering for each other and reacting impressively to big hits. Our girls hit the ball well, but usually straight to a fielder and found it difficult to direct the ball into the gaps.

We fielded impressively, making few errors, but Foremarke proved to be better at directing their shots into the spaces. Millie C took some good catches, as did Nancy and Georgia. Backstop Georgia and 1^st post Fleur caused several batters to come unstuck also. But the three remaining Foremarke batters dug in and it took a while to get them out.

In the second innings the Foremarke deeps were on fire, taking some excellent catches – one handed  and ground level! We wish them well against Packwood Haugh in the next round.
