Junior Football House Matches – Wed 8th Feb
It was great to finally play this competition and being driven into the Sports Hall by the snow made it a highly charged, fast and furious affair. There were some terrific skills on display all afternoon. The camaraderie from all the teams was delightful to witness.
It was a very close contest between the sides, but with Wellies and Churchills clearly possessing the finest array of players to choose from it soon became a two horse race. Both teams were fairly level in the results table with Churchills just slightly ahead when they met in the 4th round. With an early goal to Wellies the table very quickly turned as the churchills side began to capitulate, eventually losing 4-1.
Some mention must be made of the great sportsmanship displayed during the course of the afternoon. The top scoring slot was occupied by three boys, all of whom managed a tally of 3 goals: Angus E, George W & Ludo L.
Well done lads a great afternoon of football.
