New Headmaster Announced

New Headmaster – Peter Phillips

I am delighted to be able to inform you that the Governors have appointed Mr Peter Phillips as Headmaster of S. Anselm’s from September 2012.

Peter is currently Headmaster of Cundall Manor School in Yorkshire, a co-educational day and boarding school, and over the past 12 years has, along with his wife Sarah, built up a highly successful and, by all accounts, a very happy school.

Peter and Sarah have three daughters, two of whom are of university age and the youngest is studying for GCSE’s. Peter started his career in commerce before entering education as an English teacher. He was quickly promoted to become Head of English at St. Michael’s School in Kent before taking up the post of Director of Studies at Cargilfield in Edinburgh. In 1999 he joined Cundall as Headmaster.

Peter will bring with him great experience of the preparatory sector. He is very much committed to the full boarding ethos and we have every confidence that he and Sarah will prove to be a great team.

The Governors were unanimous in their choice and I speak for them all when I say that we are delighted to have appointed such a highly regarded Headmaster to follow Simon to steer the school and build upon the excellent reputation of S. Anselm’s as one of the country’s leading boarding preparatory schools.

We very much look forward to welcoming Peter and Sarah to S. Anselm’s and we will arrange several occasions for them to visit the School to meet you in due course.

Yours sincerely

Nicky Weston

Chairman of Governors
