Performing Arts Week: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

EVENING CONCERT

On Friday, we were treated to a wonderful evening concert with performances from Holymoorside Choral Society, Rachael-Louisa Bray (soprano), Nichola Dinnigan & Steve Marsh (guitars) and Katy Strudwick (flute).

Rachael sang songs from the shows, including some classics like 'Sound of Music' and more recent hits as 'Popular' from the West End show 'Wicked'.

Nichola Dinnigan and Steve Marsh played three guitar duets.

Holymoorside Choral Society ended the first half with 3 pieces, including the famous 'Rhythm of Life'.

At the interval, many of the pupils from the school were busy selling last minute raffle tickets, and Janet Pryor and Elizabeth Ecclestone put on an exhibition of their artwork in the Foster Common Room.

After the break, the draw for the raffle was made, with Clare T winning the top prize of a 3/4 size guitar.  Congratulations!

The second half started with some lovely guitar and flute duets from Nichola Dinnigan and Katy Strudwick.

Rachael returned to the stage for two more musical theatre numbers before Steve Marsh played 2 of his own compositions.

Holymoorside Choral Society rounded off a very entertaining concert which successfully raised a large amount of money for More to Life and Cancer Research UK.   Thank you to all the performers and audience alike.
