Carol Singing
Children from Chapel Choir and the Pre-prep joined forces for a visit to Buxton, carol-singing to raise money for Barnados. Despite wet and windy weather the children were in fine voice, and performed traditional carols along with songs from the recent pre-prep production of The Christmas Recipe. We managed to put smiles on the faces of some Christmas shoppers, and raise money for charity in the process-well done everyone.

The Christmas Recipe
Another Christmas, another spectacular pre-prep production, this year telling the story of a cat and dog working with two cooks to make the perfect Christmas recipe. Particular highlights were the rocking robins, and the shepherds and angels with their dancing to Baa-baa Bananas! The three Kings performed as talented percussionists, and we were even treated to a drum accompaniment by our very own James Smith. As usual the parents had worked hard with the teaching staff to create stunning costumes, set against a sumptuous sunset desert backdrop. Roll on next year!

Junior Book Club
Thanks go to the Junior Book Club who visited the pre-prep to share their stories with the children. We heard about Father Christmas being stuck up the chimney and helped out by Rudolf, and how Santa got so muddled he thought he had missed Christmas day. We really enjoyed hearing from these talented authors.

Christmas Lunch
A highlight of the last week at school was our Christmas lunch. The kitchen had worked extremely hard to produce a feast of turkey and all the trimmings, and an indulgent chocolate roulade. The children’s smiles said it all!
