Pre-Prep enjoyed a fantastic Indian morning of Dance workshops led by Hannah, herself a cast member of many Bollywood films.
The children learned Indian hand gestures, known as Mudras in classical performance, for a bud, flower, lion and bee, each of which play a part in storytelling through dance.
Reception participated in a traditional dance featuring jumps, hand positions, hip rhythms and poses.
Year 1 performed a Punjabi wedding dance, with some spectacular staring turns from James and Georgina!
Bollywood was the order of the day for Year 2, who learned numerous complicated hand and hip movements, pitting the boys against the girls as they danced along to Jai Ho, a song some of you may be familiar with from the hit film Slumdog Millionaire.
All the children, and of course the teachers, learned about the vast range of dances from India, and had a super time.
