Pre Season training for the top two year groups got off to a positive start.
The boys had a full day of training, which started with a bang and fitness testing, it was followed by handling, tackling and rucking practice, as well as full games towards the end. The boys worked really hard and looked exhausted by the end. Certainly the uptake on 5 a side soccer in the gym (after supper) was limited due to several complaining about how stiff they were.

The girls had a really good session down at the Belper Hockey Astro. Derek Brock (ex England U21 coach) led the session and put the girls through their paces, and dusted down that holiday feeling. Mrs Northcott and Mrs Brailich also got stuck in and were suitably impressed both by the skill levels and the fitness of some of the girls.

All pupils had a smashing supper and have gone to bed tired (but for the right reasons). The first night of term is often a late one full of chatting after lights out about stories the holidays - I suspect when heads hit the pillows it will be out for the night!
Many thanks to all the staff who gave up their time today:
Mr Tadman, Mr Northcott, Mr Berry, Mr Mace & Mr Wood
Mr Brock, Mrs Northcott, and Mrs Brailich.
