Sunday saw four athletic S. Anselm’s pupils travel to Uppingham School for the Prep School Superstars 2011 event. It was great to see a small but competitive group of schools involved. These included Witham Hall, Glebe House, Brooke Priory and S. Anselm’s.
The team of four included Angus E, Hamish O’R, Lily H and Evie D. The event included athletic and sporting challenges, individual skill challenges, team problem solving, archery and the grand finale was the team of four took part in a quadrathlon, which included Lily H cycling, Hamish O’R swimming, Angus E rowing and Evie D running. It was fantastic to see S. Anselm’s winning the quadrathron with such determination. They certainly displayed excellent teamwork and support for one another.
The results for the day depended on combined individual scores, team scores and the quadrathron, which was worth double points.
Overall Team Results
1st Place – S. Anselm’s
2nd Place – Witham Hall A
3rd Place – Brooke Priory
4th Place – Glebe House
5th Place – Witham Hall B
Congratulations to Angus E for winning the individual boys’ event.
A huge thank you to Uppingham School for hosting the Superstars event. It was a great opportunity for our boys and girls to meet the staff and to use such fantastic facilities. They certainly had a memorable day and we look forward to returning to Superstars next year!
