RS has been a well established subject in S. Anselms, for many years, reflecting the School's Christian foundation and its ethos, in which the development of a person's integrated character and values are seen to be of central importance to their whole education. RS specifically contributes to this by providing a thorough teaching of the Biblical and theological basis of the Christian faith, examining contemporary moral and ethical values in the light of this, and exploring the lives of great Christians. It also provides an appreciation of other great world faiths, and the faith issues that are presented by a multicultural society.
The RS department has it's own subject room, with staff qualified at degree and postgraduate level in Theology. We pride ourselves on outstanding CE and Scholarship results, and the pupils' enthusiastic involvement with the many different facets of this vital subject. Our newly designed CE project, which looks at the concept of God through the artwork of three religions, has taken us to the cathedral and Mosque, in
Sheffield, and involved creative work through inter-disciplinary co-ordination with the Art department.
