On the evening of Friday 2 October, Mr Weller and Mr Watt took a group of 5th year boy boarders to Edgeley Park in Stockport to watch Sale Sharks v London Irish in the Guiness Premiership.
The hosts lost a rather bruising encounter 11-8 to the London Irish side who now sit top of the table courtesy of an unconverted try from Sailosi Tagicakibau – his 6th of the season. Peter Hewat scored to penalties for the visitors.
Sale’s point came from an Eifion Roberts try and a penalty from Nick Macleod.
The S. Anselm’s boys, armed with hooters (which did become a little annoying after a while!), enjoyed the rugby, atmosphere and the culinary delights of pies and popcorn.
Hopefully the match will have given them the determination to put in a good performance against Ranby this weekend.
