The first match was played against St Olaves who were solid squad which included several pupil with remarkably full moustaches for 13 years of age. The big guys quickly took their toll to turn S. Anselm's over for 21 points to nil. Monty C was the man of this match with some furious defensive tackling, twice saving tries yards from the line.

Anselm's hit the second match literally running from one field to the other and charged into the assault against St Martins, Ampleforth. Rufus quickly making a devastating drive through numerous opposition to put in our first try of the day. In the second half a blinding run was put in by Oliver to place as the solid winners at 12 - 0 after Oliver converted his try. The man of this match was Will A for his dogged pursuit of the ball and letting nothing stand in his way.

Newcastle School for boys proved to be difficult opposition, repeatedly exploiting gaps across our defensive line to finish 26-0 nil up. Max did his best to thwart some of the more treacherous play and was clearly the player that shone through in this game.

Our finally was repeat of last weeks match, facing Witham Hall. Despite dominating territorially and gaining the majority of possession Anselm's were devastated to lose a game 7-0 the should so easily have won. Man of this match was big James B for his sorties through the opposition ranks.

All of the team were fantastic and made it a most enjoyable game. The finest moment was when an opposition parent commented that S. Anselm's boys were the finest and most well-mannered gentlemen he had met in quite some time. Well done guys!
