On Sunday 13th November, a tour party of under 12 and under 13 girls visited us from Mowden Hall, as part of their Sports Tour. This gave our senior girls an excellent opportunity to repay Mowden, who had hosted our year 8 pupils as part of their Sports Tour at half term. The girls did a fantastic job and were true ambassadors for S. Anselm's, giving the Mowden girls a tour of the school and sharing a quick game of Cornish Longball before lunch. At lunch the Mowden girls did not have to lift a finger, with our girls clearing their plates and ensuring their every needs were catered for.
In the afternoon our under 12a and under 13a girls played them at netball and both teams played impressively, securing two good victories, particularly pleasing as our girls are in the midst of their hockey term, whereas Mowden have been playing netball since September. Both matches were very well supported by our parents and the atmosphere on the sideline was superb. After the matches, Georgia R and Clare T made an impressive, confidently delivered speech, thanking Mowden for visiting us; before all of our girls presented their opponent with a S. Anselm's key ring, as a momento of their visit to us. Both teams shared a match tea before enjoying a free swim. All the girls then gave Mowden Hall a true S. Anselm's send off in the car park, with plenty of waving and three cheers. We hope that links between our two schools can be maintained and both schools visit each other whilst on tour in the future.
