1st - Nelsons
2nd - Pitts
3rd - Wellingtons
4th - Churchills
Today's results were the exact opposite of last week's junior ones! Nelsons had a very good team, with Annie GP, Arabella H, Georgy H and Poppy S all playing superbly throughout the afternoon. Their main rival of the afternoon was Pitts, with the second half of this game being a 2 - 2 draw. Well done to them for battling until the end.
Thanks to our three captains - Arabella H, Ella N, Fran B and Isobel H for all their hard work organising the teams and encouraging the younger girls throughout the games. The year 6 girls and Holly D, our token year 5 girl, battled hard and were not afraid to take on the older more experienced players. The year 7 showed great stick skills and how far they have come in the past half a term. The year 8 girls used the whole of the pitch effectively and moved the ball around impressively. All in all a solid and pleasing performance by all our age groups.
Great autumnal hockey conditions prevailed, with super support from the touchline and a real sporting spirit amongst the girls. Thanks to all of the parents for adding to this super occasion, to our catering staff for their alfresco refreshments and to the girls themselves who were a pleasure to umpire. Thanks also to Mrs Northcott, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Elvin for their help with umpiring and organisation on the day.
