So long Slieve Mor
Slieve Mor finished the term in true form. Despite some exhausted but happy faces as they emerged from their week in the wilderness, some good old fashioned Slieve Mor home comforts quickly allowed them to feel human again, before the whistle stop pace of their last day at school. A lovely catch up and chill on the sofa, a shower and some insect bite lotion (curse those Scottish Midges who can smell a sasenach from a 100 feet!) was all it took for them to rise to the challenges of a final prize giving and final packing.
The last 24 hours at S. Anselm’s has always been an emotional roller coaster, for all the Year 8’s, but particularly the girls. This typically proved to be the case however the added excitement of Izzy’s birthday really added to the special occasion. As is traditional in Slieve Mor we had a final treat night of feasting on Chinese Cuisine, coupled with of course – birthday cake and the compulsory rom-com movies!
It was with real pride that we watched you all at Speech Day getting those hard earned and very fitting awards. We wish you every success in the future and would dearly like to have regular updates on progress. We have no doubts you are all ready for the wonderful challenges of Senior School in September!
This is a final tribute to all our Y8 girls and their parents who have been such a delight this year at Slieve Mor and to all the girls who have lived with us these past 4 years. You have all been tremendous fun and we watch your bright futures with interest. Evie and James could not ever have had a better bunch of big sisters!
Many thanks to all of you the parents, pupils and staff who have provided the overwhelming leaving gifts and contributions, we feel incredibly touched by your generosity.
Please feel free to stay in touch, we would love to hear news of the pupils and the school. You can contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
