While the rest of the country had scattered showers, Bakewell glowed in sunshine for our Speech Day.
The Guest Speaker Anthony Clark (the Headmaster of Malvern College) was superb in his address as he urged the leavers to have courage and to communicate well in their new schools. In a final addition he told them never to be bored! That if they felt that way, they should go and do an act of kindness to someone else!
As usual there was a fanfare of prizes ably handed out by Mrs Campbell and Mrs Cracroft-Eley, and there then followed drinks on the lawn and then picnics in glorious sunshine on top field. England at its best.
