Strollers v Alstonefield Lost by 5 runs

Despite a stirling 80 no fron Debutant Richard Abraham we managed to contrive to lose last night by 5 runs!

Needing 8 off the last over and with 9 wickets left we lost Salloway to the third ball, Rudd first ball and Player run out trying to swap the strike! Richard could only manage a single off the last ball and we ended on 150-4.

 

Earlier good bowling efforts from James (Henry),Player, Hepper, England & FitzHerbert  had kept their total down to 155-6 after a storming start! Good catching and excellent keeping from Litchfield J allowed the Strollers to limit their opponents’score  despite the fast , small outfield that make scoring relatively easy.

 

Thanks to all for playing and to all those that contacted me re their availabilty! We did play 11 in the end by borrowing one from Alstonefield!
