Success at Oakham Tournaments

Success at Oakham Tournaments

S. Anselm's took 4 teams down to Oakham for their prestigious netball and rugby tournaments.

Once more the boys and girls did the school proud with their play on the pitches and their manners and behaviour off it. It was delightful to be approached by so many Oakham staff who reported positvely on their good behaviour and impecable manners. Irrespective of success on the court - this made the day a huge success.

Girls: The U10 girls went through to the Vase Final and narrowly lost.

The U12 netballers went through as winners of their sections, to the Tournament Cup Finals and drew 5-5 with Winchester House in those final,s but were pipped by a goal with 3 seconds to go in extra time - so were the overall runners up. They were rewarded for their excellent play by goal attack, Arabella H being awarded the player of the tournament title.

Boys: The U10s 7 side had a tough day but came out playing some super rugby in the end.

The U12 boys rugby 7's side lost and early encounter and then started camming to life. They ended up playing in the Plate Final and beat St Hughs in that final.

Some tired but satisfied boarders returned to school ready for a new week. Well done. SCN
