Sunday 16th October

Sunday 16th October

This was a good day and there was lots of activity and fun being had by all.

After a hearty breakfast we enjoyed a great service by Mr Henry Price from Rugby who gave us a very useful insight into what senior schools look for in their pupils. Our readers read well, especially Bertie S. After this there was an excellent informal concert and then we set off on our activities.

The Year 7 and 8 pupils went to Brailsford to play paintball and this was a major success. Mr Berry was in the thick of it but Cameron D thinks that he shot him a few times! Mrs Price got stuck in too as did Mr Wood and Mr Seddon. It was great to see Nick P and Isaac S, who have been off games, having a bit of fun outdoors. Annie G-P and Georgie H were also expert marksmen!  By all accounts it was a bruising encounter!

Mr Mace took an elite team on a long walk to Bakewell. We all had hot chocolates at The Upstairs Cafe where the waitresses said the children were the most polite children they had served.  Then we bought 50p of tuck at the Co-op to bring back to School House to munch whilst we watched "Up!". Then there was some time to play outside in the autumn sunshine.

After a slap up meal we had a early night in preparation for next week. All great fun!
