Sunday 5th February

Sunday 5th February

What a Sunday this has been and we didn't go more than five hundred metres from the front door of the school!

The nights before Sunday had been fun packed. In School House there had been mad parlour games including den building using sofas and cushions on Friday and on Saturday we all settled in front of a film.

We rose this morning to a bright shining sky with the sun streaming in through the windows but a deep blanket of snow had painted the hills and trees in sparkling fresh snow. We had about two to three inches of snow but the conditions were perfect for snow ball fights, igloo building and snow men! As you can see a whole lot of fun was had by everyone......

We then had a hearty lunch which included a steaming hot soup which was just what was required. Straight after lunch the kids could choose a kick about in the sports hall, a swim, more snow play or a film. It is worth noting that loads of the children wanted to get back out in the snow and carry on making their weird and wonderful constructions! However, a significant number had well over an hour in the pool splashing around with woggles and all sorts! The afternoon was just tremendous fun!

Of course we also had a bit of time just mucking about with our friends too.

We then welcomed parents and grandparents into the school for  a service  to celebrate the great sacrifices grandparents make for their own children and grandchildren. This was followed up by a "thank you supper" which was a great success!

Thanks to everyone who made this another cracking weekend!
