The Nursery and Pre-prep children have enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of swimming in our lovely indoor pool. This magnificent facility was built by the generous contributions of past parents and their great fundraising, so it was particularly good to utilise this resource to help raise further funds for future projects for the school. Thank you to everyone for your generous support, not only this afternoon, but in sponsoring the children. We hope to raise a super amount for the Foundation and new Prep School adventure playground.
Each child tried tremendously hard to swim as many widths or lengths as they could manage. They were given terrific encouragement from all the staff, their peers and their parents, who were supporting and cheering them on. It was a truly wonderful atmosphere, as many children swam further than they ever had before. It was especially rewarding for Mrs Knowles and Mr Callun to see all their input and encouragement with the swimmers come to fruition. The children were certainly really well prepared and motivated for today’s event and the progress each child has made was very evident.

Following their swim, the children enjoyed the refreshments of home made cookies and flapjack served upstairs in the common room. There were also stalls to browse around and lots of lovely items to buy.

Many thanks to the parents who baked delicious goodies for the cake stall, donated goods for the craft and nearly new stall and to those who helped run the stalls, Nicola Vaughan, Beverly Bock and Beverly Dobson-Cave. We will let everyone know a final total after half-term, once all the sponsor monies have been returned to school. Thank you also to the staff in the kitchen who kept us supplied with refreshments throughout the afternoon.
A special mention to Katrina Mayson and Martha Marriot who had this great idea in the first place.
A final thank you to Michelle Northcott, who helped in so many ways to make this such a successful event.
Well done everyone- a super team effort!
