We are delighted to be in the Tatler Good Schools guide once more. There are only 100 or so Prep Schools in the guide so it puts us up there with the very best schools in the land.
No-one knows who writes the entries or how the information is compiled but I owe a drink to the author of this year's entry! SCN
S. Anselm’s School article, Tatler’s School Guide 2012
Everybody loves S. Anselm’s and in particular its heavenly head: Simon Northcott is just as likely to open your car door in the morning or play table tennis with the children as he is to teach them history or take assembly. He even coaches Scottish country dancing, for goodness’ sake.
Mr Northcott knows each child well enough to spot if anything’s up, making this a particularly bright and happy school that also happens to achieve heaps of scholarships to senior schools nationwide.
Chess is the hobby of choice – beware the young England player in their midst. Weekends are jam-packed with activities, from cookery to astronomy and fencing to ice-skating. Pupils are currently whizzing down the new zip wire and an Astroturf is on its way. No child has to be ‘sent’ to board here – parents can’t drag them away.
