This was a fabulous action packed weekend full of activities. On Friday night the School House boys played some parlour games. Ludo L emerged as a good leader and Peter T as his Lance Corporal as the lads were challenged to build a den of cushions that could house all the young boarders! After several collapses finally a structure was erected thanks to the dogged hard work of the boys!

The next morning everyone was very excited about the boys' and girls' House matches which went wonderfully well. The ferocity of the games and the enormous enthusiasm of all the boys and girls who played was wonderful to watch. It was also good to see that some younger or less experienced players rose to the occassion and were supported by their team mates too.

The Christmas Fayre was fabulous and all our thanks go to the parents who made it such a success.

Soon after the children were given their bright necklaces and they went out into a mild evening to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display whilst munching on burgers and sausages under the bright November sky - fabulous stuff.
On Sunday we bounced out of bed and had a delicious full-English breakfast before Rev John Bavington from Giggleswick delivered a moving sermon about the power of God. Just what we needed to power us through the day! Paddy C read very well indeed and the choir were exceptional.

Soon after lunch we all went off on our various excursions. Mrs Seddon, Mrs Price and Mrs Whawell took a group of juniors to Over Haddon where Natural England tutors took them on a nature treasure hunt and they did some tree leaf spotting and bug hunting too. The team then showed the children how to make and glaze pottery using the leaves and bugs as inspiration. Mrs Seddon said this was a truly magical and educational experience for them all.

The Slieve Mor girls went off ice-skating with the Berrys and had a marvellous time. It was great to have time to mess about and giggle. Just what everone needed especially when it was accompanied by a burger and chips!

The remaining Year 7 and 8 boys played man hunt and had a splash in the pool. They also got to sort themselves out and catch up on prep before next week.
This evening we all had an early night and flopped into bed ready for Monday. Well done everyone and thanks for your enormous efforts. Happy days!
