If you enter the Reception classroom at the moment you will be greeted with “Kung Hey Fat Choy” and will probably be pounced upon by a rabbit. This is because we are learning about the cultures and traditions in China, one of them being the Chinese New Year which started yesterday and continues with celebrations that last for 15 days. The children have been trying to use chopsticks – great for hand eye co ordination and have made their very own lions, listened to traditional Chinese music and have used their puppets in their very own lion dance. They will be baking with the Nursery children this afternoon making traditional moon cakes which are sure to be delicious.
