Transition Visit to Creswell Crags

Transition’s understanding of the Stone Age was enriched when they spent an enjoyable day at Creswell Crags. The ‘tribe’ met a Stone Age person called Renna who invited them into her cave, telling exciting stories passed down from her ‘elders’. We then tried our hand at spear throwing, attempted to make fires and built shelters from natural materials. The day was concluded when the class became little archaeologists and used spades, trowels and toothbrushes to carefully reveal hidden bones.
