Triple Inspection feedback

Triple Inspection feedback

Inspection feedback

We have now just come out of a tough 4 days when we have had a triple inspection going on. We have had an Early Years inspection assessing our Nursery and Form 1, an Ofsted inspection inspecting our boarding and pastoral care, and a whole school ISI inspection assessing all we do. In all we have had 11 inspectors here monitoring the school and all we do. We have even had an inspector inspecting the inspectors! Monty Python eat your heart out.

We are not allowed to give you any feedback at this stage. When the reports become public you will be sent a copy, or at least a précis, and shown where you can get the full version should you wish to read it all. This will probably be in about a month.

To give you an indication of what we have been through the ISI inspection (just one of the three) has over 55 pages of regulations that we have to meet – and if we fail on any of them it is publicly identified in the report. We shall see!

While I can not give you any detail I thought a couple of quotations from the inspection team might give you a flavour of how the inspections went.

One inspector remarked that he would happily give up his job as a headmaster, take a pay cut, in order that he was able to come and work here.

Several inspectors said they would have been over the moon to send their children to S. Anselm’s had they known about us.

Thank you for your part in the process. Inspectors normally receive about a 30% return rate on the questionnaires and they are often full of gripes and moans. We had an 80% return rate from you as a parent body, and the feedback was very positive indeed. So cheques are in the post!

Thank you
Simon
