Men of the Match – A Edwards and Tom B
Hill House were not as organised as they could have been and their players seemed quite uncertain about positioning and so on. However, they had some large boys who were prepared to run at us.
Nevertheless, the pace and power of Angus E, Tom B, Hamish O’R and others was too great and Angus E scored three tries in the first half. There were some nice passages of play with some sound passing. The boys received a bit of a telling off at half time as the lack of practices due to bad weather and House matches had meant that the boys had forgotten to push up and make tackles in defence and ruck cohesively and run onto flat passes in attack.
The second half saw much the same sort of rugby as the first half. It was spirited and passionate but not very disciplined. There were some great runs and tackles and the boys clearly enjoyed what they were doing but we continued to appear a little lack lustre compared to other performances.
The boys should be pleased with the win and congratulate themselves on their passion and commitment but we have lots to do at training to ensure we produce a tighter and more disciplined performance next time.
Well done – we are still unbeaten!
