U10 v Ranby House Drew 3 - 3

It was the last game of the season and what an amazing match to end on! Ranby won the toss and took the push back. The play started very 'end to end' but due to the Ranby defence, the girls found it very difficult to get into the D to even try and score. The forwards, Arabella, Teya and Jess played their hearts out and were admirably backed up by Annie who positioned herself brilliantly enabling her to play both in an attacking and defending capacity.

Ranby finally managed to get through the S.Anselm's denfence of Beth and Georgina who in their exuberance to get the ball did occasionally leave the goal too exposed. Two goals were scored by Ranby but this only spurred the girls on and armed with this determination, Arabella and Jess managed to score two well placed goals to take the score to 2 - 2 as the half time whistle blew.

The second half saw an increase in the pace of the game. The teams were so well matched that it was bound to be anybodies game. Unfortunately, Ranby managed to penetrate the defence once more and despite Sky's best efforts, managed to score another goal. Our girls were spurred on and this time really dominated the game. The forwards took the lead and with fantastic team work, Teya managed to score the equalling goal.

With minutes left, Arabella sadly missed four attempts at goal by a whisker leaving the final score as 3 all. It was a superb game and the teams were extremely well matched. It has been an absolute pleasure being involved with the Under 10 girls - well done and thank you for being such a delightful team to coach.
