U10 v Wellow House Lost by 1 wicket

S Anselm’s were put into bat in this evenly matched game. After a reasonably bright start, wickets started to tumble, with only Cian B making any significant inroads against Wellow’s tidy bowling, with a top score of 12 runs. Ludo L started well but managed to run himself out, and there were a number of wickets lost through poor shots resulting in catches. S Anselm’s finished their 20 overs with a score of 78 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Wellow House started with determination and, despite the loss of some crucial wickets, mainly through the bowling of Ludo L and Max W, managed to haul themselves to 78 runs, also for the loss of 9 wickets. With 2 overs remaining, it was simply a question of taking the final wicket or scoring one more run. Unfortunately for S Anselm’s, the final run was knocked off and Wellow managed to win this very tight game. An exciting start to the season!
