U10A v Foremarke Hall Won 20 1/2 - 15 1/2

What a lovely first outing for the under 10 team!After winning the toss our captain elected to field first, which didn’t quite start to plan, with Foremarke taking two whole rounders off their first two bats. This shocked our team into action and thereafter Foremarke only scored another 2 full rounders and 2.5 from half rounders off the remaining 25 balls.Going into bat our team had a sterling performance, with 4 whole rounders coming from Georgina T, Clare T and Georgia R. The rest of the girls worked very hard too and together accumulated another 6.5 from half rounders. In the second innings our fielding was much sharper. Clare T bowled consistently well and linked sucessfully with Georgia R in the deep and Emily H on second post. We kept Foremarke to 2 whole rounders and 8 from half rounders.Batting for a final time we were stopped at 2 full rounders but again the whole team worked very hard to achieve half rounders : 7.5 in total.Overall, I am very pleased with the team performance and thank you to all the spectators. Now we need to focus on fielding strategies, especially at 1^st and 4^th post and controlling the long hits from the opposition. AJW
