The third game of the season saw the U10A team gain an early lead and maintain this comfortably throughout the match.
The first quarter started a little scrappy with the girls occasionally not thinking about their positioning and simply running towards the ball instead of finding a space to receive it. There were times aswell when the ball was thrown far too quickly, usually resulting in the pass going straight to an opposition player.
When the ball did reach the goal, Sky and Arabella worked well together and took the lead with a score of 5 - 2. Sky, inparticular, made a super effort to break away from her defender although some more bounce and dummy throws in the goal need to be worked on.
The second quarter was far more settled and orderly with some lovely passing runs down the wing by Jess, Teya and Georgie. Annie was exceptionally good as WD with some great interceptions and marking.
The second half saw the play continue to be dominated by the S.Anselm's girls. Wellow House did have some strong defenders but were simply not quick enough to stop the passing or finish when the ball did get into their goal, thanks to good marking and jumping by Oonagh.
The U10 girls played very well and are certainly gaining more confidence in their play and ability to snatch the ball to gain possession. We now need to work on finding space to receive passes and more tactical throwing when the defending is tight.
Well done - another fantastic win!
