U10B v Grace Dieu Drew 1-1

The U10 girls were very excited about their first match. Some hardly slept the evening before!

The first half saw both teams battling away to get a goal. S. Anselm's were the first to score much to their delight and that of the many parents who came to spectate. Lydia G worked her socks off  trying to cover the whole field. Unfortunately this meant that she over exhausted herself and came off at a critical moment in the game leaving Grace Dieu open to score an equaliser.

There were several areas that needed addressing at the half time interval. These were in particular the need to keep sticks close to the ground when defending and to finish what they start when they go into score. We lost some vital chances at goal as girls would send the ball into the D hoping someone would finish the goal for them. It is also clear that they must use the whole pitch more and resist the urge to crowd around the ball.

Well done to Izzy F who was jointly player of the match with Lydia for sterling jobs as forwards.
