The U10B girls were both excited and nervous at the prospect of their first match of the season.  Unfortunately, Great Longstone did play an A team who dominated the game throughout, however, on the positive side, this did lift the B team's game considerably and stretch their skills.

The first quarter saw our girls slightly shell shocked at the pace and passing by the opposition.  Isobel did shoot a fantastic goal, especially considering we were using high posts which the girls had no experience of.  The remaining 2 goals by Beth and Ella T later in the game were equally worthy and warmly recognised by the spectators.

Ella N as Centre managed to cover every inch of the court and snatched the ball fearlessly on numerous occasions.  Poppy was also very good and made some fantastic interceptions, a skill that went from strength to strength throughout the match - especially with the added encouragement and support from her Mum on the sideline!

By the third quarter there was a definite confidence emerging.  Arabella A worked tirelessly as WA and with good defending throughout, Great Longstone scored only 1 goal.

The final score of 3 - 18 did not reflect the energy and enthusiasm that the S.Anselm's team gave to this match.  There was much to be proud of by all the girls in this game.  They could quite easily have given up at the first hurdle but instead rallied to the challenge of playing a stronger team by giving it their all to the very end.

Well done girls - lots of lessons learnt but a well fought match never- the- less.
