Wednesday 29th April Home v Foremarke Hall
POM - Nancy Smith
The U11 girls played another super game of rounders on lovely sunny afternoon on top field. We won the toss and elected to field first. The girls played a good tactical game ensuring very few rounders or half rounders were given away. Several good catches were made and some impressive stumping meant that Foremarke opened with 4.5 rounders.
We came into bat requiring runners for two of our injured player. A few careless errors were made when girls were stumped unnecessarily. It was evident that our girls were not making enough effort to run to first post and several were stumped there. At half time we were ahead by two rounders.
After the usual half time talk, we came back onto field for the second time. The fielding was even more impressive and Foremarke did not manage to score any whole rounders but some halves were given away by no balls. Our batting also improved in the second innings with some very impressive batting by Nancy. We scored 3 whole rounders and 6 half rounders which brought the final score to Foremarke 7 - S. Anselm's 12.5. Well done girls, the hard work you put into your coaching sessions is being rewarded!
