Well done to the U11 netball Team on battling through injury to win the S. Anselm's Netball Tournament.
I cannot praise the team highly enough for the spirit in which they played. It was a long and hard afternoon as the girls only got a ten minute break between matches all afternoon. This would have been a challenge in itself, but we were already two key players down due to injury and three of our seven were struggling with foot, ankle and knee problems. They drew against Packwood Haugh 3--3 and won each of the other 7 matches to finish in first place.
Player of the tournament must go to Lucy R who had a tremendous afternoon where she was rewarded for hours and hours of practise throughout the term. She received some great passes into her shooting area and converted many to goals. A stunning display of Netball. What a way to end the season!
Chloe was as impressive as always and our defence, Nancy, Francesca and Emma kept most balls out of harms way. Well done Annie and Olivia in attack.
They girls were rewarded with a shield and individual medals. Emma, who was today's captain, thanked all players and coaches for a very enjoyable afternoon of netball.
I hope you all have a well deserved break over Easter and reflect on your superb season! An unbeaten season on the match front and winners of two tournaments including the regional IAPS Netball Tournament. You have much to be proud of and you are a such a lovely group of girls to coach. Thank you everyone!
