Under 11's v Ranby House
On an especially fowl, wet and windy day, the U11 A's hosted Ranby House and hopes were high after an encouraging display earlier in the week. However, early execution of basic skills was poor from S. Anselms allowing Ranby to establish an early two try lead. S. Anselms struggled to use the conditions to their advantage and Half- time arrived with no points on the board and now it was our turn to face into the teeth of the gale.
With their impressive half-back pairing running the game for them, Ranby established a strangle hold on the match, allowing them to score three further tries. The S. Anselms boys dug deep in defence and did their absolute best to keep the opposition at bay. Ben E capped of his best game of the season with a late try having shown lots of promise in the game with some strong runs. Jack H was outstanding in defence with a series of thumping tackles that left spectators gasping in astonishment!
John W put in another solid display, but collectively we were second best on the day. We must now work hard as a side to improve our skills and decision making to take us to our first win of the season!
