The U11's had one of their closest matches of the season against the Elms. We were missing our usual WA and this position was played by Lucy who worked really hard throughout all quarters.
We started the first quarter very slowly but by the end of the first quarter Chloe and Nancy were playing their best games yet. Chloe, who was probably the smallest player on court, was marked by the tallest. As usual this did not put Chloe off in any way and she leapt even higher than usual to intercept the ball! Olivia and Gabby worked superbly together.
By the end of the first quarter we were in the lead 6-1. However The Elms came back fighting after half time and were much more accurate with their shots at goal. They quickly caught up and we had a few worried moments as their score edged closer to ours. However when the final whistle blew we were ahead and the final score was 10-8. Far too close for comfort, especially as we go into the IAPS tournament tomorrow.
Good luck tomorrow girls!
