This was always viewed as a tournament for the U10 girls to gain some valuable experience before their journey to Oakham for the U10 Tournament later in the season.
Despite the girls having an automatic disadvantage with being a year younger, they all played as well as they could and never gave up until the last whistle was blown.
The most positive aspect of this tournament was for the girls to see how quick the other teams were able to move into spaces, pass the ball and defend. It was very pleasing to see that after the first match a number of the defence players started to imitate the other teams by facing their opponent in order to stop them receiving the ball.
Forget the disappointing scores but take note of the skills and pace that you should all be progressing towards as a team.
