U11A v Grace Dieu Won 21-5

Grace Dieu were always going to be a tougher prospect than our last game. In recent weeks we have developed a slightly worrying trend of starting each game very slowly. Today was different. The boys seemed fired up from the start and were keen to impress. In difficult conditions the handling was excellent. After a sustained amount of pressure Olli R. managed to wriggle over for the first try that was converted by Alex W. The first half continued in the same vein and Olli R. managed to score his second, quickly followed by a fine try by Cameron D. Going in to half time we were 21 points up.

Grace Dieu were always going to come back hard in the second half and 5 minutes in they managed to pull a try back with a break away by their pacey fly half. We demonstrated much better defensive skills than we have in recent weeks and managed to win 21-5. A much improved performance – well done boys.
