It was a very brisk start to the game after a long bus journey, but after winning the toss and a quick warm-up, the girls were ready and raring to go!
The fielding started a little loose with some balls being missed and miss thrown, but once they hit their stride they managed to get five of the Grace Dieu team out and restrict their runs to 5.5.
Our first batting innings saw four whole rounders and 4 half rounders scored – some won by sheer daring.
In the second innings the fielding was far tighter but Grace Dieu still managed to score 6.5 taking their total to 12.
With 4.5 to score for a win the girls approached their batting innings with confidence. Four girls were run out but it was a calculated risk that unfortunately didn’t pay off. Fortunately with well placed hits, the final innings saw a victory to the S. Anselm’s team of 14 -12.
