Final Score S. Anselm's 9 1/2 lost to Ranby House School 12 1/2

Half time S. Anselm's 3 1/2 Ranby House School 4 1/2

Player of the Match: Olivia C

This was an eagerly contested match with the girls buzzing about the game and keen to get the innings underway. We played two innings each of 27 good balls. Aside from the drama of the match play we had the added drama of a Ranby girl not enjoying the close attention of an over friendly bumble bee, a split lip to a Ranby girl intent on pipping Chloe to second post and a runner needed for Gabby T- ably performed by Eleanor T!

The reality was though that we were out batted by a strong Ranby side who were better able to add whole scores to their tally then we could, and some super tactical play - including their never to be forgotten "Charlie's Angels" formation at second post to deprive us of the much needed half scores.

Olivia C was chosen as Player of the Match for some super deep fielding and some sound hitting. What we lacked in a bit of "oomph" we more than made up for in spirit and enthusiasm. Going forward we could do with some coping strategies for fielding under pressure - in the heat of the moment the ball tended to be thrown from post to post to post. Confusion over decision making and tactics added to the pickle, gifting half scores to the Ranby scorecard. However, when all is said and done the S. Anselm's girls enjoyed a great match and displayed some super moments. Well done to all those involved.
